What is a good strategy for storing your personal digital videos?
We've started recording our home videos with a digital camera, and I know we are going to have challenges with storage space before too long. We've used Carbonite for online backup, but that won't work for the amount of space the videos will consume. So I'm wondering what most people do for their primary and backup storage? Burn to DVD's? External hard drive? Something else? What is the most cost-effective and efficient strategy?
Get a western digital passport and use it as a very large USB drive, burning DVDs etc was useful in year 2000, but these days USB dries have gone so good that you don't need to burn dvds any more.
Western Digital is a good reliable hard drive manufacter company, and I like the passport because it works from the USB power and does not need external power.
Online backup will take forever to upload for videos, and not really meant for that.
